New forum launched!

Well, recently I got the chance to move the forum over to a more mac friendly forum host. The compmodders forum is now hosted here. Now for those of you who are ondering registration is still free. All you have to do to see all the boards is register. Registration is quick and simple and you now have a bigger choice of what you can do. This includes flash based posts and many other things. I am arranging for a photoshop expert to be posting tutorials and she will also be moderating our photoshop boards.

Some past due photo work.

Well, it's been a while since I have had the chance to do any actual photographic work. This picture was taken with a Canon A-1 SLR type 35mm film camera. The lense was a canon Fl mount 28mm with a stop of 3.5. The whole rig is quite ancient but is absoluetly brillant for these type of slow shutter shots. the only thing i had to do to this photo seeing as it was balck and white was adjust some minor things and add a little flar to the light blur. There's more on the way, I'm still working on them though.

About the malex minute banner.

The malex minute is an audio based podcast of which is released weekly, by the guys over at The MalexMedia|Network. It's not only a comedy based podcast but also appropiate for any one of any age and religion. I attend church with Alex and do a random amount of brainstorming with him and his crew of which includes the likes of his siblings Gabe and Peter Markley as well as the occasional apperence of his Sister, Mother and Father in select episodes. It is nice to a group of well dedicated people who stick with their beleifs in spite of all that goes on in the world.

The most shocking part of all of this is the company isn't strictly a church based company with only "church related" material. Various artists from across the globe submit artwork which is then added to the main page and put in to a RSS feed. I congraduate Alex and his crew on their sucess over the previous years and look forward to growing with them in their experiences. Please feel free to submit to the podcast by click the RSS logo button at the bottom of this page.

All, ipods to get coverflow.

Well, maybe it's not all of the ipods seeing as the shuffle has no screen. So the news struck a while ago, but seeing as i have just now come across it and it looks to be fairly new (overflow was releases in itunes version 7) ill post the video for the heck of it.

To me, this looks acurate. It funtions like the itunes version when you move the mouse in one direction it scrolls that way. I'm a big fan of the aero/transparent style myself and think this would be one more thing to add to the personal touch. How ever, not all is in the clear. It has been sspeculated that this could perhapes be a hoax due to the scrubbing (or buffering if you so choose to call it that) being slieghtley off timing with the movement of the hand. While this is not sure i will say that they ipod touch pad's do seem a bit lagy and depending on the camera angle it could manipulate the recording rate within the two central locations.

Not to worry though. The poster of the video also claims that there will be no further model of the ipod until the launch of the iphone of which has been set for mid to late june.

Well, first blog, first project.

OK, so since the release of the ipod i have gone through a lot of them including at least one of each model. I've had them stolen, submerged, smashed, scorched, stabbed, crushed, electrocuted, etc... etc....

Now, heres whats going on now. in order to try and limit my spending i replaced my ipod video 60 GB with a very tiny 2 GB generation 2 ipod nano. Now, i know its not much, but after realizing that i had songs on my huge ass 60 GB (which was also quite a pain in the ass as far as transport goes..) i also realized that this one had a metal encasing. Why they haven't done this with the larger gen 5 ipod is completely unaware to me. How ever, they make case of which are metal so i wasn't worried about that.

What i was worried about was my ipod nano today after i fell on it in BFS (P.E. for you simple minded, bigger faster stronger for the rest of us.) and put quite the dent right next to the screen and scratched the hell out of it. Now it didn't damage the screen, but it did bugger up my select button in the center of the click wheel. Needless to say, I'm building a case for it. A brushed aluminum case at that. Stylish, light, unobstructed, strong and secure.

So here in a while (once i go through this pile of old computers, TVs, monitors, etc, etc that i have dragged home from work and find some aluminum sheeting i will embark on my adventure. I will take pictures of the different prototypes, test dummies, etc, etc. In the process of this i will also be taking pictures and posting them back some time early tomorrow morning or late in the night. Ohh, and hey kids cheer up its Friday tomorrow (I my self just realized this so don't worry, you're not the only one's.) so in the event that this becomes a major project then i will keep you all up to date.

Also a note to all viewer's, i have the chill out page set to refresh every 30 seconds so if you have any feed back please post it here. All ideas are excepted and I'm willing to work along side a well educated group of others if you have any constructive ideas that would help this product (it will be made a few times over and sold once finished.) become any better.

Thanks much!,
